Middle Creek is a popular destination for un-powered boat users (mainly canoes and kayaks) looking for a peaceful place to watch wildlife, exercise, or just to enjoy some time on the water. Powered boats are NOT permitted so you won’t need to deal with the noise or wake of larger boats sharing the same water.
Picnic tables are available in the woods a few steps from the lake. A portable restroom is available.
SPEEDWELL FORGE LAKE
Located in Lancaster County, Speedwell Forge Lake is a 106-acre impoundment owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and managed by the Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) for public fishing and boating.
Speedwell Forge is a popular destination for un-powered boat (mainly canoes and kayaks) users looking for a peaceful place to watch wildlife, exercise, fish, or just to enjoy some time on the water. A pavilion with picnic tables is available by the lake. Portable restrooms are available seasonally.

Middle Creek Kayak Rentals LLC is a privately-owned kayak rental business serving the Middle Creek Lake in the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area and Speedwell Forge Lake. We rent solo and tandem recreational kayaks for a serene yet fun day of
paddling on the lake.
Looking to slow down and enjoy some time on the water?
Our rentals include kayak, paddle to get you around, a personal flotation device (vest), whistle,
and shuttle service. Bring your sunscreen, water bottle, big smile and you’re all set.
Dress in something you don’t mind getting wet.
